Privacy Policy — Roamtale

Who we are

Roamtale ("Roamtale", "we", "us") is a cloud-hosted software service that helps creators turn their own travel photos into social-media posts. The service is operated by Marvin Kamp (the "operator"). Contact: privacy@roamtale.io (fallback: marvinkamp1988@gmail.com). Servers are hosted in the EU (IONOS, Germany).

What data we process

• Account data: your login name and a securely hashed password.
• Uploaded media & metadata: photos/videos you upload and the EXIF metadata they contain — including GPS coordinates and capture time — which we use to generate location-aware captions. A coarse place name may be derived via reverse geocoding.
• Generated content: the captions, hashtags and media Roamtale creates for you.
• Connected social accounts: when you connect an account (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook) via its official OAuth login, we receive and store an access token and refresh token for that account only, plus public profile info and statistics (e.g. follower and view counts).

How we use it

• Generate location-aware, platform-specific posts from your photos using the Anthropic Claude API.
• Display your account statistics on your private dashboard.
• Schedule and publish your own content, and — only when you enable it — draft replies to incoming comments/messages.

We do not sell your data, share it with third parties for their own purposes, or use it for third-party advertising. Photo content sent to the Anthropic Claude API for caption generation is processed under Anthropic's terms and is not used to train their models.

Legal basis (GDPR)

We process your data to perform our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and, where you connect a social account or enable automation, on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time by disconnecting the account or disabling the feature.

Storage & retention

Your data is stored on Roamtale's servers in the EU and kept for as long as your account is active. Social tokens can be revoked at any time by disconnecting the account in Roamtale or in the platform's settings; on disconnection the stored tokens are deleted. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time (see below).

YouTube API Services

Roamtale uses YouTube API Services. By connecting a YouTube channel you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and your data is handled in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.

• What we access: with the scope youtube.readonly we read your own channel statistics (subscriber, view and video counts) and comments on your own videos; with the scope youtube.force-ssl we upload your own videos (YouTube Shorts) and post replies to comments on your own channel.
• Only your own channel: all actions happen exclusively on the channel you connect, at your explicit request. We never access any other user's channel.
• How we store it: the YouTube access and refresh tokens are stored on Roamtale's servers and used only to perform the actions above. We do not sell or share this data.
• Revoke & delete: you can disconnect the channel in Roamtale at any time — this revokes the token with Google and deletes it from our storage. You can also revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these — or to delete your account and all associated data — contact privacy@roamtale.io. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

Cookies

We use a single essential authentication cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Third-party platforms

Connected platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook) and the Anthropic Claude API process data under their own privacy policies. Roamtale only acts within the scopes you authorize.
